Trench warfare affected Australian soldiers as they were the ones fighting in the trenches. The affects were mental scaring, impaired hearing, possibly injury and death, also feelings such as loneliness and home sickness. The soldiers would be feeling lonely and homesick in the trenches as they would greatly miss their loved ones and their families. The soldiers wouldn’t just have bad feelings; they would also have feelings of courage and proudness. The soldiers may also have been bored at times as trench warfare may have been a safer option for war then an open ground battle but it also meant that the Australian soldiers had to stay in the trenches all day which, as said, would have led to boredom for the soldiers.
